Αντιπροσωπεία του Κρατικού Οικονομικού Πανεπιστημίου του Αζερμπαϊτζάν (UNEC) επισκέφθηκε το Πανεπιστήμιο Δυτικής Μακεδονίας στην Ελλάδα στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος ανταλλαγών Erasmus +.

A delegation of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) has visited University of Western Macedonia in Greece as a part of the Erasmus + exchange program.
During the visit, the delegation met with the rector of the University of Western Macedonia, Professor Theodoros Theodoulids, and the director of the MOGMAT program, Professor Evangelos Siskos. During the meeting, prof. Theodoros Theodoulids informed about the innovations implemented at the university. He said that the university supports successful economic projects in this direction, supporting the development of Greek economic development, including the “green economy” and innovation. The rector also spoke about the importance of the joint master’s program on “Oil and Gas Management and Transportation” (MOGMAT) implemented between UNEC and University of Western Macedonia. He said that the work in this direction is being successfully continued, 38 people have graduated from the joint program and got masters diplomas since the program started in 2016, and 135 people are expected to graduate this year. He noted that academic exchange and joint research between the two universities were successfully continued within the program. He stressed that the graduates of the program have the opportunity to get PhD in business administration, economics, transport and logistics, oil and gas technology in Greece, Azerbaijan and other EU member states.
At the meeting attended by the head of the department of Economy and Business Administration of UNEC Sevar Mammadova, director of UNEC Examination Centre Sahib İsayev, director of the Center for Student Affairs Khalida Yusifova, the head of the Russian School of Economics Mansur Barkhudarov, the head of the Public Relations department Elnara Mammadova, the assistant of the rector Shamil Aliyev, the two sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation between two universities, the implementation of exchange and dual diploma programs on bachelor’s degrees in “International Trade and Logistics”, “Design” and noted that cooperation in this area would be successful for both universities.
Within the framework of the Erasmus + program, the heads of the structural units of UNEC got acquainted with the work of the relevant departments of the University of Western Macedonia and shared with their colleagues the innovations implemented at UNEC.
It should be noted that UNEC is the first foreign university to implement a joint master’s program in Greece. The master’s program in Oil and Gas Management and Transportation (MOGMAT) between UNEC and University of Western Macedonia consists of 120 credits, including 12 disciplines and graduation theses, 30 of which are taught by the academic staff of UNEC in Greece. Within the program, in addition to master’s preparation, the program provides academic exchange and joint research between the two universities. According to the new cooperation agreement signed in 2019, the term of the joint master’s program has been extended for 5 years until the 2024 academic year.
